The Wolfmaier’s year of 2016 described with pictures
These are some pictures describing the year.
The year 2016 started with fireworks, like most years. Low clouds over Ringsjön, just a few kilometers from our place. Mattias and Johanna got each other, the first wedding of the year. Winter weddings are great. It did get cold, here we are on the lake enjoying a beautiful winter day. Birds enjoy our bird feeder when it’s cold. The landing of an A380 is just something. And here comes the announcement of spring A regular Sunday breakfast at our place. Canoeing on a calm day, the lake is like a painting. If you only go backwards you end up getting scraped. The Yellow Danger didn’t want to go forward anymore. Playing at the lake is always fun. It is always good with some grilling. Somehow it marks the start of spring. The garden starting again. This year with the new fence. So Markus got his Virginie (or was it the other way around?). Here from their civil wedding. Dramatic skies during a walk. I think we made it home before the rain. Things start growing. It is always a joy seeing everything come up. The caravan we rented visiting Torp, a conference outsied of Örebro. Beautiful clouds over the campground. Having lunch on the walkway. He didn’t want to sit at the table. This was the start of our road trip during the summer. Next stop was Stockholm, where we stayed at this hotel for a few days. Stockholm is a good place to introduce kids to public transport. We did most of them, trains, trams, metro and buss. We had one day at Skansen, the bumper cars were enjoyed. We made it to Birka too, the kids enjoying some sculpture. Visiting friends, the kids finding common things to play with. The last major stop was Bamse-land at Kolmården. The kids enjoyed this ride, my stomach really isn’t up for things turning like this. There was no crocodile for Susanna. The rhinos at the Swedish savannah. Wildfire is a great roller-coaster. Sadly my stomach didn’t agree with me. I only made it three times. The red panda is a cute little critter. We came home, and found this in our garden (and many of them). Owning a house gives you a good share of fixing it. This summer we improved the bad board of our southern facade. Living close to Shaun the Sheep land is a pro. Second time on a horse. Our replacement for the Yellow Danger. The Golden Fun. About this time we were able to see our last kid for the first time. Enjoying an evening walk to the beach. Interesting cloud formations. Then we made a trip to Germany. Here we visited an old ore-mine. But the main reason was Johannes’ cousin’s wedding. Right after we got home, Johannes had a study-trip with work to Madrid. The turtle of the Atocha-station. Trying to visit the railway museum failed, it was closed. We also took the last cable-car to a park. Walked a rather long distance to find a taxi to get back to town. Back home it was time for apple-harvest. Sometimes a coffee-break leads you to taking pictures of trains. In preparation for insulating our attic, some pictures were made of parts that can’t be seen any other way. Here some wasps lived before. We had some pumpkins growing, they turned out rather big.
