The Wolfmaier’s year of 2018 described with pictures
These are some pictures describing the year.
The gingerbread house wasn’t ready until after new-year. But we made one. On a nice winter day a walk to the lake is a good idea. Just try to keep the water level in mind… As the snow came we were done with the green-house. Just behind our place the traditional flooding was used as ice-skating surface. On one of the few nice days a walk to the sea during lunch-break is a good idea. We managed to go down-hill skiing in Skåne. That isn’t possible every year. But snow wasn’t really scarce this winter, here our car during a snowstorm at the airport. The snow wasn’t as deep at our place but still beautiful. The garden is just a nice place when there is snow, here a new dose came around Easter. Then we did some traveling, here we are at our goal, Cologne. We did some excursions in the surroundings, here we are at the hanging railway of Wuppertal. We can see one train leaving the station. The main reason we did the trip was this lovely couple’s wedding. The next journey went to Hemsedal, this time only Johannes, with his work. Mid-April and still deep snow all over the mountains. Back home the first trees started to bloom. First comes the Mirabelle. It was also time for the first plats to be moved to the greenhouse. Our garden also got some care, the first salad was planted. Some flowers that we didn’t want to have growing with the potatoes ended up in a pot. Beginning of June it was time for the bicycle race around Ringsjön, here we are after arriving at the goal in Höör. The roses by the garden are so nice. As summer was upon us with good heat we went to the beach, it was nice even with the clouds. Our first cucumber, not the smallest kind. Friends bicycling. Next time at the beach we made this nice little castle. We made a little hike to one of biggest old volcanos of Skåne, Jällabjär. Our garden made us plenty of joy this year. Building a house you can walk into is a pro from a museum on a hot summer day. Sunset at Ängelholm. Siam not too pleased that he can’t have some of our breakfast. Then the summer came to an end, here the onion harvest is drying. Later in the summer Johannes made a road trip, he ended up in the deep forests of Värmland. The lake was a perfect mirror. Back home we were preparing for the winter, filling up the attic with insulation. This year’s study trip went to Budapest. Here we are on one of the large squares. The Danube was low, the bridges were pretty though. In our garden we are learning things, like Broccoli has yellow flowers. Maybe we should harvest it earlier… Some after work fun, go-cart race in Malmö. The water was really low, here the kids playing on rocks that usually are submerged. This is basically the same view as the second picture of this series. As the autumn was arriving the trees started to get new colours. Just some trees at the lake. Mid November we had some pictures made by a professional, the kids were playing on the stone field that usually is a part of the lake. It was about time for harvesting the last crops, here the carrots have come up from the soil. Christmas came and with that new toys, grandpa managed to build the highest tower. He also made a kite, which our daughter could fly. It was just hard to get a picture of it flying. Then the year came to an end, we celebrated it with a nice dinner at home. 2018 was a good year!
